The world’s first photograph was announced at the Royal Institution back in 1839. What wasn’t announced was that a murder also took place on the same evening – a crime that remains unsolved to this very day.

Okay, okay, there wasn’t actually a murder but suspend your disbelief for a bit and join the Royal Institution team as they launch their in-house investigation in attempt to get to the bottom of what happened over 130 years ago. Those involved will have a chance to explore the archive for evidence, test forensic techniques from the nineteenth century and present day and discover the voices of those who may have been witnesses.
