An illustrated anthology using super strict word limits
It all started with a simple concept. As you peruse the galleries at the V&A, sure you notice the outrageous & entertaining Japanese gothic Lolita outfits on display, but what about a threadbare sackcloth robe worn in a church by a 17th century adulteress? Not so much. To highlight these lesser-seen artefacts, the V&A gave 26 objects to 26 writers & they had exactly 62 words, but only 26 to respond to the object. They then took this idea to the National Museum of Scotland, the National Library of Wales, & the Ulster Museum, & now, voila! You have an incredible collection of lyrical, surprising, moving, & thoughtful reactions to once-passed-over pieces.
