The UK premiere of a heart-breaking documentary
Picked as an official selection in the Moscow Artdoc Fest, ‘A Russian Fairytale’ is pretty much anything but. It’s a beautifully shot, albeit depressing, film following street kids living in an abandoned building where literally anything is possible. This includes, but is by no means limited to: stealing, turning tricks, excessive drug use, and other such necessities required to survive in the broken post-Soviet city of Perm, Russia. This film is not for the faint of heart, but is for those who have one. You’ll sympathise with the kids as they do unspeakable things with heart-breaking humour to block out the horrors of their everyday lives.
General admission.
