In '50s London, a young woman falls in love with the voices on her radioAs a child Elizabeth Turner fell in love with the voices on her radio. Years later, as a successful broadcaster Elizabeth is a guest on Desert Island discs. As she shares her favourite records with the radio listeners, the audience become privy to more intimate stories from her past. Drawn into the world of radio that she had so admired as a child--with all it's glamour, and celebrity--Elizabeth soon finds herself asking if this is truly the life she dreamed of.
