A masterclass on the ins-and-outs of lamb w/ a glass of wine & 50% off dinnerA fabulous experience for those who would like a lesson in lamb and butchery skills. This is an opportunity for the recipient to learn more about where their meat comes from, pick up a new skill and get the most from each cut. We can promise a fun and relaxed evening hosted by our charming Head Butcher Salvatore. Start the evening with a glass of wine and mingle before we head over to the butchery studio for a 2 hour lesson and tasting. Afterwards there is the opportunity to dine at the restaurant with 50% off the entire menu for Butchery Class guests. The attendee also takes home a piece of the marinated lamb that you will learn to make in the lesson as well as a recipe card.
Lamb is probably the most seasonal meat, ranging from delicate new season lamb to the rich and robust hogget. Our butcher will explain the different breeds we use, the origin of the lamb we choose from HG Walter, what the difference is between age and type of lamb as well as what characteristics to look for when shopping for lamb yourselves. They’ll break down a whole carcass in front of the class, explaining the cuts and how to cook them as they go.
You will also be shown how to sharpen your own knives and how to make a perfect marinade to use with your lamb at home.
Children under the age of 16 are not permitted. Please inform if you have any allergies in advance. No refunds for no-show or late cancellations. For those under 18 we can offer a soft drink in exchange for glass of wine.
