Backyard Cinema Cuban Screen Outdoor Screening: Short Term 12
The good, the bad, the messy and the uplifting
Backyard Cinema have teamed up with Camden Market to bring you their very own outdoor summer film festival set across two screens. Sink into giant beanbags and lounge on deckchairs as you enjoy a selection of films, all served with fresh burgers, craft beer, cocktails and a decent helping of live DJs. Adventure through the alleys of Camden Market to find the intimate courtyard hosting the Cuban Screen stage. Here, you will find a more unusual range of indie flicks, moving documentaries and foreign language films. Tonight’s offering is the 2012 drama, Short Term 12. GoldDerby is a short-term foster-care centre for troubled teenagers, presided over by young supervisors (and secret couple) Grace and Mason. The arrival of suicidal Jayden forces Grace to process her own past and present; chiefly the baby she is covertly carrying. Think Tracey Beaker, but more gritty and shot with a bigger budget. "Short Term 12 builds to an involving series of mini-climaxes without tidying up every loose end." – IndieWire "Beautifully written and perfectly played, all of human life is here: the good, the bad, the messy and the uplifting." – Empire Certificate: 15. Valid ID required. Runtime: 1 hour 35 minutes. Please note that your email address will be passed to the event organiser as these details act as proof of purchase and are required to gain entry.
"Heart, soul and personality to burn."
