Backyard Cinema Cuban Screen Outdoor Screening: Supermensch
Wild tales and charismatic conversations from an impressive roster of A-listers
Backyard Cinema have teamed up with Camden Market to bring you their very own outdoor summer film festival set across two screens. Sink into giant beanbags and lounge on deckchairs as you enjoy a selection of films, all served with fresh burgers, craft beer, cocktails and a decent helping of live DJs. Adventure through the alleys of Camden Market to find the intimate courtyard hosting the Cuban Screen stage. Here, you will find a more unusual range of indie flicks, moving documentaries and foreign language films. Tonight’s offering is Mike Myers’ Supermensch, a documentary following the music svengali and PR genius, Shep Gordon. Gordon was the infamous manager behind many of the rock’n’roll greats and their media-friendly exploits, including Alice Cooper's chicken abuse. After his live-fast-die-young period, he succumbed to Buddhism and cookery, inventing the concept of modern celebrity chef – quite a career change. Expect wild tales and charismatic conversations from an impressive A-list roster. "Myers brings energy to his first film the way he brought it to his early comedy." – IndieWire "It might veer towards hagiography at times, but its subject is so entertaining you don't even care." – Empire Certificate: 15. Valid ID required. Runtime: 1 hour 25 minutes. Please note that your email address will be passed to the event organiser as these details act as proof of purchase and are required to gain entry.
