30 years later, Goonies still never say die
Backyard Cinema have teamed up with Camden Market to bring you their very own outdoor summer film festival set across two screens. Sink into giant beanbags and lounge on deckchairs as you enjoy a selection of new releases, cult favourites and all-time classics. Based in Camden Lock Place, the main stage is the hub of entertainment before the screening serving fresh burgers, craft beer, cocktails and a decent helping of live DJs.Tonight’s offering on the screen is The Goonies, which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary this year. A firm family fave, this movie follows an enterprising group of boys who tackle the threat to their neighbourhood the only way they know how: by finding pirate treasure. With the villainous fratellis hot on their heels, the gang risk life and limb (sort of) to beat them to the finish line. "Find me another kids' film featuring economic struggle, opera, disabled brothers and a piano made of bones and I'll do the truffle shuffle myself." – The Guardian "The Goonies has every imaginable funhouse flourish...crooks, bats, cobwebs, skeletons, a lovable monster, an underground grotto and a treasure hidden by some of the most considerate, clue-loving pirates who ever lived." – New York Times Certificate: 12. Runtime: 1 hour 39 minutes.
"A rollicking good time."
