If you think you know how horror films work, think again
Backyard Cinema are getting ready for the apocalypse by screening creepy films that might just make you jump out of your skin. Five friends go to a cabin for a holiday and become embroiled in slasher film conventions. This is far from cliché though, as master of satire and meta-genre Joss Whedon sends up and pays homage to horror. This dark and darkly funny film spins expectation on its head, as the five teenagers begin to realise they’re being watched and unwittingly taking part in an ancient ritual. General admission. Over 18s only. Your ticket also includes a glass of beer or wine. Best available seating allocated by the venue on arrival.
"The pleasure in The Cabin in the Woods comes from its audacious tuggings-away of the dramatic rug under your feet."
