For this one, get ready for Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 adaptation of literature's most famous love story, Romeo And Juliet. Relocated from fair Verona to Verona Beach, this vibrant, zeitgeisty mid-90s adaptation retains the bard's original dialogue, performed with gusto by a hip young cast and set to a perfectly-pitched soundtrack. The film is studded with fantastic supporting performances from John Leguizamo (Tybalt), Harold Perrineau (Mercutio), Pete Postlethwaite (Friar Laurence), Miriam Margolyes (Nurse) and many more. "Bold, brassy, hugely inventive and accessible and, in a strange way, just right." – Empire "The most aggressively modern, assertively trendy adaptations of Shakespeare ever filmed." – Variety Over 18s only. Valid ID required. Please arrive on time as latecomers may not be admitted. Screening begins at 8pm.
"Shakespeare has never been this sexy onscreen."
