Watch the documentary, then dance to the real thing
Hailing from Portugal, Buraka Som Sistema blend electro, techno, and grime into a perfectly addictive sound. Heavily influenced by the African kuduro genre, this is high energy music begging you to dance. Tonight there is a screening of their documentary Off The Beaten Track, which explores their impact on Lisbon nightlife and the rise of kuduro. Afterwards the band play a rare live London show. They have a tinge of the MIA about them, experimenting with jungle beats and rap, moving between languages and styles. General admission, normally £14.50 plus £1.81 booking fee. Over 18s only.
"...a riotous carnival of party beats, Angolan rhythms, and stabby synths."
