A listening party for one of the best-selling jazz albums of all time1959’s ‘Kind of Blue’ marked the point where Miles Davis gave himself completely over to jazz. And we thanked the heavens for it. Featuring an unparalleled all-star lineup from the likes of John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb, ‘Kind of Blue’ changed the path for jazz forever.
Listen along at 8pm to music that inspired or was contemporary to the LP such as Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, and Charlie Parker. Then at 9:45pm, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy will relay the story behind the album, followed by a continuous replay of the record on vinyl. If you’re hungry, The Hanbury Arms is known for their fresh brick oven pizza (with a gluten-free option as well). It’s an audiophile’s dream.
