A musical journey about the journey of musicAs part of three performances in the Free Winter Concerts 2015 series, this is a classical music tribute to the theme of emigration. Throughout history musicians have sought inspiration, recognition and fame in foreign lands, leaving their beloveds and familiar surroundings behind. Astor Piazzolla left Buenos Aires in the 1950s, taking tango music to New York, Paris and the world. Three decades earlier, Osvaldo Golijov's family escaped anti-Semitic persecution in Romania to find a new life in Buenos Aires.
