Genre bending of the highest order
As the bassist in the Robert Glasper Experiment, Derrick Hodge earned a Grammy and now his chillin’ hip-hop and jazz beats are finding a home in his solo career. His debut album is full of jazzy horns, slick lyrics and R&B influences. Tonight, he's joined by Jaimeo Brown who connects the dots between different jazz genres. All that cool in one room, we don't think we can cope. Over 16s only.
"Mr. Hodge, a bassist with roots in gospel, jazz and R&B, comes bearing earnest intentions and a glow of transparent optimism."
