East London Fringe Pop Up Cinema: Monty Python + The Holy Grail
"On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a silly place."
Complete with deck chairs, mouthwatering BBQ meals, a pop-up bar, in-seat drinks service and world-class films, East London Fringe Pop-up Cinema hits London once again. Presented at West Hackney Recreation Ground, an oasis of parkland nestled in the heart of Shoreditch, expect a program of cutting edge art films and cult classics, plus more. A comedic send-up of the grim circumstances of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation, The Holy Grail is (in our opinion) the greatest of the Python's films. When the mythical king of the Britons leads his knights on a quest for the Holy Grail, they face a wide array of horrors, including a persistent Black Knight, a three-headed giant, a cadre of shrubbery-demanding knights, the perilous Castle Anthrax, a killer rabbit, a house of virgins, and a handful of rude Frenchmen. Riotously funny and persistently ridiculous, this comedy classic will make for a top night out in the park. Certificate: 15. Runtime: 1 hour 15 minutes.
"An incredibly silly film of great humour, brilliant design and epic insanity."
