Everyman

Life meets death

Don't miss out again!

Everyman has everything going for him: friends, success, popularity. Then Death shows up and throws a spanner in the works. Can we truly understand our lives in life or does it take death to grasp the bigger picture? This classic English drama is revitalised thanks to words from Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy. Everyman could be any of us. The Olivier − named after Laurence Olivier, the first director of the National Theatre (during its years at the Old Vic) and the outstanding British actor of the 20th century − is the largest of the three theatres at the National. In spite of its size, the Olivier has a concentrated intimacy. No seat is far from an actor's point of command; and the span of the seats matches their effective span of vision. "Sensational staging. The visual effects are tremendous. Chiwetel Ejiofor as a superb Everyman."– The Observer "Spectacular. Thought-provoking. Full of Carol Ann Duffy’s brilliant sly rhymes." – Time Out Not suitable for children under 5. Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes with no interval. Ticket price includes booking fees.
