See the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse following its five-year restorationWhat is it?
Two preview nights for the newly refurbished Victorian glasshouse at Kew Gardens – exclusively for Time Out readers.
When is it?
Saturday May 5.
Anybody who has visited Kew Gardens in the last five years will have seen scaffolding and construction work surrounding Temperate House. Now, after an ambitious renovation project, it’s ready to be revealed to visitors. And you’re all among the first people on the guestlist.
First opened in 1860, the Decimus Burton designed glasshouse is a true wonder of Victorian engineering. The largest surviving glasshouse of its kind in the world, this Grade I-listed marvel contains an astonishing 1,500 specimens of flora from as far and wide as Africa, Australia, New Zealand, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific Islands, many of which are rare and threatened.
These two preview evenings are exclusively for you lovely folks – tickets are just £16 each. Don’t miss out on a chance to see a brand-new jewel at the much-loved haven in south-west London. Oh, and before it turns up in all your mates’ Instagram feeds this spring and summer!
