Humanity's last hope isn't human
The Roxy Bar and Screen is perhaps one of London's best-kept secrets. Tucked away behind thick red curtains, the screening room has something of a speakeasy feel about it – expect comfy couches, cosy armchairs, leather sofas, tables and barstool all set in front of the big screen. Your ticket also includes any main dish from the Roxy menu before you tuck into the main event. Tonight’s offering is the hotly anticipated 2015 sic-fi blockbuster Chappie. After being kidnapped by two criminals during birth, Chappie becomes the adopted son in a strange and dysfunctional family. Chappie is preternaturally gifted, one of a kind, a prodigy. He also happens to be a robot. Directed by the same gent who did District 9 and Elysium and featuring an all star cast including Dev Patel, Sigourney Weaver and Hugh Jackman, Chappie is a surefire hit for any sci-fi fan. Over 18s only. Certificate: 18. Valid ID required. Runtime: 2 hours 3 minutes. Dress code: smart casual.
"Probably the coolest cinema venue in London, if not the UK."
