Film Feastival Season: Sideways With Seven Wines + Food Pairing
A fusion of film and feasting
It's a special day today – we'd like to introduce to you the cinemeal. It's a whole new cinematic experience where you can eat-and-drink-along to some fantastic films at a wonderful outdoor cinema, courtesy of The Proud Archivist. A ticket entitles you to seven wines, each chosen to match up with seven key scenes in the movie, plus food that's paired with the wines throughout. There'll also be a quiz with prizes to be won, and a talk on how to deal with wine snobs by an Oddbins Events expert. This time around, they'll be screening the mature road trip movie Sideways. The film, adored by critics, follows Jack's last days as a bachelor as he departs on a wine-tasting road trip with Miles. Careering their way through mid-life crises, the pair are at painful opposites. They share little with each other besides history and a deep trepidation over the future. Funny, touching and poignant in places, this is a road trip movie with a difference.
