July 4-5 from 1 pm at Tooting Common, Tooting
Time Out says
Tooting's country music takeover is back. After drawing thousands of boot-scooting Londoners to its debut, Country on the Common returns to south London for a full weekend of Nashville-inspired sounds, Americana eats and Wild West antics.
Across Saturday and Sunday, the festival brings together a packed line-up of country, blues and roots talent. Saturday sees legendary bluesman Seasick Steve and UK country star Kezia Gill take to the stage, while Sunday's bill is headed up by rising US country artist Cody Pennington alongside award-winning British blues singer Elles Bailey and country-pop favourite Harleymoon Kemp. There's also a first for BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay, who'll be spinning his Country Jukebox DJ set live on stage, plus tribute acts celebrating Chris Stapleton and Taylor Swift.
When you're not parked in front of the stage, you can try your hand at line dancing, axe throwing and rodeo bull riding, or settle in with BBQ, Tex-Mex dishes, craft beer, whiskey and cocktails. It's about as close as you'll get to a Southern summer festival without leaving Zone 3.
