Take a dip into Hollywood's darker side of obsession and desire
This glorious four-star play is based on the novel Father of Frankenstein by Christopher Bram, which also provided fodder for the 1998 Oscar-winning movie Gods And Monsters. Follow director James Whale as he descends into old age in a Hollywood retirement home. Befriended by new gardener Clayton Boone, Whale must fight the demons in his mind as he plays out his grand finale. Please note that this production contains strobe lighting and nudity. Latecomers may not be admitted.
"The superb Ian Gelder portrays the predatory loneliness of Whale with acute sensitivity and longing…a layered, fractured story about a man coming to terms with his past."
