A conversation on the Syrian + Sri Lankan conflicts
Granta Magazine, the periodical founded by students at Cambridge back in 1889, published early works from many writers like A.A. Milne, Ted Hughes, and Sylvia Plath. Mainly geared at new writing, it’s no surprise that this particular issue surrounds betrayal and how to tell the stories of war.
Moderated by the deputy editor of Granta, Ellah Allfrey, Janine di Giovanni will talk of her recent trip to Syria and the stories of lives torn apart. They’re joined by BBC Correspondent and Bureau Chief, Frances Harrison explaining her experiences of living in Sri Lanka reporting on the Tamil Tigers. It’ll be bone-chilling, real life accounts on devastation and the stories they produce.
General admission, face value £12.50. Please arrive on time.
