Hand To God

A gleefully dark comedy about a boy and his potentially satanic hand puppet

"Full of insight and laughter…socks it to the audience."

- The Times
Discounted seats available for all performances till 30 April. Save up to 47%. Described as Avenue Q meets The Book Of Mormon, Hand To God is the awesome new transfer from Broadway – an award-winning, fresh and gleefully dark comedy that tells the story of a boy and his potentially satanic hand puppet, with Harry Melling (Harry Potter's Dudley Dursley) starring as both Jason and Tyrone. The rehearsal of a Christian hand puppet show is thrown into chaos when a hand puppet called Tyrone seemingly takes on a life of his own, becoming a foul-mouthed and increasingly vicious alter-ego. Tyrone is the scene-stealing sprite of the production: true, he may be an inanimate object, but his riotously raunchy riffs on everything from love to faith shake a small Texas town to its core, while proving that it is both sinfulness and saintliness that make us all truly human…and utterly alive. Part of the Vaudeville's success lies in the fact that it has only had five owners since 1892, making it a family-run affair over the years, and at its core lies a pure love for high-quality productions. As imposing as its location on the Strand, the current building is the third theatre to be built on this prominent site. Nominated for the "Best New Comedy" Olivier. "Satanic sock-puppet satire." – The Guardian "Hand to God spirals towards blissful hysteria. And my God, it’s good." – British Theatre ★★★★☆ – Daily Telegraph ★★★★☆ – British Theatre ★★★★☆ – Whats On Stage ★★★★☆ – West End Frame ★★★★☆ – Theatre Cat Suitable for mature (age 16+) audiences only, due to strong language and mature themes.
