Live Q&A with the director + producer afterward
Profiling some of the Iraq war’s biggest victims, the children, In My Mother’s Arms finds Husham fiercely protecting a group of 32 orphans in a dangerous district in Baghdad. When their landlord gives them two weeks to vacate, they frantically try to find another place to call home. Husham takes on religious and racial divides to try and give some of these kids their childhood back. It recently won Best Documentary Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards. This is a heart-breaking, but realistic depiction of the tragedies of war.
After the screening, you’ll have the opportunity to pick the brains of director Mohamed Al Daradji and producer, Isabelle Stead.
