Sure it’s received a gazillion awards since its 1946 release & has made it onto every ‘best movies of all time’ list you can think of. But the fact that It’s A Wonderful Life still resonates with the public today really shows off its brilliant storytelling & incredible staying power.
If you haven’t been fortunate enough to see it yet, it’s about a man who’s given up his dreams to help others & whose imminent suicide on Christmas Eve is intervened by his guardian angel. The angel shows the man all the lives he’s touched & how different life would be had he never been born. This film embodies everything that the Christmas spirit is all about, so why wouldn’t you wanna join in?
