A Sudanese village try to hold onto tradition in the face of globalisation
Filmmaker Maciej Drygas has documented the daily life in Abu Haraz for seven years and Frontline are screening her film as part of the Polish Film Festival. When a dam was built in the Nile, the natural flux of the seasons was disrupted and now the village is submerged under 35 metres of water. The film follows the citizen’s localised reality as they protest the dam and relocate to a place they don’t know in the middle of the desert.
Best available seating. This screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Maciej Drygas.
