The first concert of the new Korean Sounds seriesThe first concert of the new Korean Sounds series features three celebrated Korean artists: Jihoon Kim (bass vocalist), Minjung Baek (pianist), Marisol Lee (violinist).
Korean bass Jihoon Kim studied at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan, where he graduated with top grades and summa cum laude. In Italy he also studied privately with Rolando Panerai.
Pianist MinJung Baek studied at the prestigious Accademia Pianistica di Imola in Italy with Leonid Margarius and Mannes College of Music in NYC with Jerome Rose before moving to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama on a full scholarship under the guidance of Ronan O’Hora and Stephen Kovacevich.
Violinist Marisol Lee was born in Seoul, started learning violin at the age of five, attended Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School, graduated with top marks having received music awards including the Sinsujeong Scholarship.
