Vladimir Jurowski conducts Taneyev and Tchaikovsky
The many faces of tragedy are explored as London Philharmonic Orchestra tackle the music of Taneyev, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius at Royal Festival Hall. "There is no greater pain than to recall a time of happiness in a time of misery," wrote Tchaikovsky, quoting Dante. Those feels will be fully explored in a program that includes:
- Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini
- Sergei Taneyev's Opus 1
- Sibelius's Second Symphony
