Not the most likely cause for celebration, given, but these morsels of goodness are celebrated annually in Lisbon at the Sardine Festival, and Chef Leandro Carreira at Londrino plans to do just the same this year in London. Grilled, pickled and tinned versions of the versatile sardine will be dished up both day and night, alongside an array of sangria and Superbock. Hackney's Portuguese Love Affair will also be hosting a stall at the festival, showcasing their iconic tinned sardines. On June 23 to close Londrino’s Sardine Festival, London Bridge neighbours José Pizarro, Brett Redman and Leandro Carreira will join forces at Londrino for a sardine party where each chef will cook up a different sardine dish for guests!
