We call it midsummer. The Swedes call it midsommar. Whatever way you slice, dice and pronounce it, the longest day of the year is a cause for celebration. Make the most of the endless light by tucking in to a hearty Swedish-style feast complete with homemade aquavit. The secret location is an apartment that was home to the Greek team during the 2012 Olympics, where you'll be meeting Magdalena and Martina, their stories, travel tales, creativity and passions. The food is inspired by their heritage; Magdalena is Polish and Martina is Norwegian and Italian, so you can imagine how diverse the food'll be. With friendly company and great eats, the day will seem almost limitless. The menu: - Midnight Sun welcome drink and nibbles - A smörgåsbord of homemade gravadlax, pickled herring and vegetables, accompanying sauces and rye bread, washed down with a trio of homemade aquavit flavours - Traditional Swedish meatballs in creamy sauce, served with lingonberry jam and janssons temptation (potato and anchovy gratin) - Frozen strawberry and cream cheesecake This is a BYOB event.
