Learn from the masters. Eat like royalty. Draw from dance.
From Degas to the Italian Futurists, conveying movement has always been a fascination for artists. This class will look at the different approaches taken throughout history to create dynamism in art, before giving students a very special opportunity to make their own bold compositions working from dance, during the life class in the second half of the event. Designed for all abilities, these four-hour long sessions will be a heady mixture of art history, performance, drawing, informal tuition and creative experimentation; all set to an eclectic playlist and framing a delicious one-course lunch and drink from the revered Carousel kitchen. Using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, Carousel head chef Ollie Templeton (ex-Moro) and his right hand men, Matt Voisy (ex St John Bread & Wine) and Tom Ryalls (ex-Moro), will be rustling up fresh, sophisticated food, bursting with big flavours to ensure you are in peak condition to get creative. "He (Whiteson) teaches students to liberate themselves from the constraint of rules and avoid simple replication. Invited to draw inspiration from the human form, you cant truly let your creativity flow without having your skills judged."
