Flesh to touch... flesh to burn. Don't keep The Wicker Man waitingJoin Nightspot Cinema for a very special screening of The Wicker Man, one the greatest psyche-horror classics ever made. Hand-picked for Halloween especially for Paul Giovanni's masterpiece folk horror score, which relentlessly unnerves the watcher with jovial melodies and ritualistic acoustic rounds.
Thankfully the harvest was plentiful this year with bountiful pots of country pumpkin stew on offer to keep the nerves at bay, along with goblets of freshly brewed London Fields Harvest Ale to fill you with the Dutch courage you will surely need. Grab a pillow on the way in, find a comfy spot and settle in for an eerie yet unforgettable Halloween experience, as Nightspot Cinema transforms The Brewhouse arches with May poles and pentagrams into a pagan ritual site for the night.
And if that wasn’t enough, the film will be preceded by the mysterious earthly born music of the sensational three piece folk act Whiskey Moon face, who will be performing traditional British and Irish folk songs to welcome in The Old Gods under the railway arches. As is customary with any sacrificial ritual, Nightspot entreats you to arrive adorned with the symbolic mask of your spirit animal so you can understand the true nature of sacrifice and help us secure next year’s harvest.
- Whiskey Moon face live: 7.30pm
