Join the wandering band of movie mavericks for a special film screening
How many ways are there to see a movie? Well, when you add movie magicians The Nomad Cinema into the conversation, the possibilities are endless. Nomad Cinema have no fixed home: they journey from venue to venue, always finding fresh pastures to screen cult classics and old favourites. For this one, get ready for Labyrinth. A blend of Alice In Wonderland and Wizard of Oz, Labyrinth has achieved the status of cult nostalgia for a generation of a certain age – the film was a box office flop at the time, struggling to recoup half of its then massive $25m budget. But like all great cult films of the 80s, it has slow-burned its way into popular affection, helped in no small part by Trevor Jones’ score, the surreal touches introduced to the script by Monty Python’s Terry Jones, and of course David Bowie’s Goblin King Jareth. Certificate: Universal. Running time: 1 hour 38 minutes. Fully accessible. Food and drink available to purchase. Picnics with alcohol permitted. This screening is silent with Wi-Fi headsets. Doors open: 6:30pm.
"A remarkable achievement."
