Northern Ballet: 1984
Northern Ballet return to Sadler's Wells after last year's sell-out success
Northern Ballet had a stormer of a year in 2015, with the sell-out success of their adaptation of The Great Gatsby. They'll be returning to Sadler's Wells, this time to tackle George Orwell's 1984. Winston Smith lives a life of complete conformity, under the unwavering gaze of Big Brother. However, when he meets Julia, he dares to defy BB by falling in love. Created by guest choreographer and formal Royal Ballet dancer Jonathan Watkins and set to a live score from Alex Baranowski, 1984 will revolutionise the way you think about ballet. Sadler's Wells has been presenting theatrical productions for over 300 years. Constantly supporting the arts, they host a diverse programme of entertainment. Alongside theatre, they are world leaders in contemporary dance and they also provide a home for artists. ★★★★★ – The Public Reviews ★★★★☆ – The Guardian ★★★★☆ – The Telegraph ★★★★☆ – The Stage ★★★★☆ – Bach Track Running time: 1 hour 50 minutes with an interval.
