Up close and personal with some of the best musicians in the business
This autumn, join Notting Hill's Book And Kitchen for a series of live sessions with some incredible musicians. Over the next few months, Notting Hill Unplugged brings a variety of acts to this cultural hub, and sees them play against an unusually intimate backdrop. Here's your chance to get involved. Inspired as much by '70s soul as by the jazz greats, Zena's had great reviews for her funky new take on popular and rare jazz gems and irresistible, low-down R&B sounds. Expect groovy arrangements of popular jazz standards and groove-laden, self-penned originals. John Crawford was born in London of English and Spanish parents. His father played blues piano, and his mother introduced him to Latin music of all kinds, fuelling his love of playing. He's gone on to perform at Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Getxo Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott's, Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, the 606 club and the Royal Albert Hall, among others. Over 18s only. Valid ID required.
"Creative and compelling, she is an exceptional talent with solid musicianship and soulful unpretentiousness. Her album, Captivated, reminds us of the persistent appeal of the blues and gospel roots of jazz."
