Four ace live bands at a vintage shop by day and bar venue by nightPaper Dress Vintage presents an evening of wonderful live music from their unique, shop window stage in Hackney Central. Championing burgeoning acts and new music, they're venue is a fantastic place to meet up and hear some incredible live music. On Saturday 16 April they welcome:
- Oysland: a Balkan band with an exuberant sound, rooted in Yiddish musical tradition, with worldwide, modern influences.
- Beach Violence: Beach Violence's sound sits between Beirut, The Fairport Convention, Antony and the Johnsons and Siouxee and The Banshees. Their songs are philosophical and dirty, with folk roots, pop hooks and phat beats, with vocal harmonies soaring above autoharp and drums. They recently released the EP Luxury Flats on Snake Church Records.
- The Beatrix Players: Experience the subtly unnerving, passionately moving music of the Beatrix Players. This all-female trio combine dramatic piano, strong cello and heady vocals, using dark melodies to tell their stories of real life and fantasy. Influenced by a love of film scores and classical composition, the three experiment with different styles of acoustic folk and pop to create music not for the faint hearted.
- Seafoxes: Seafoxes is an art-music collaboration based in the former docklands of East London. The members are a group of friends hailing from Norway, Scotland, England and Poland who formed the band together in early 2015. Their music (created by Karina, Yvonne and Jane) features ethereal vocal harmonies and bewitching violin instrumentals, while Karolina’s exquisite artwork is influenced by the diverse topics covered in the song lyrics.
