Screen both Post Mortem + smash hit No in the same dayLarraín is a brilliantly honest Chilean filmmaker and thanks to Riverside, you’ll have the pleasure of watching a double feature of some chilling cinema radiance.
First up, it’s 1973 in Chile, the last days of Salvador Allende’s presidency. When a morgue recorder falls for a burlesque dancer in Post Mortem, love blossoms, until she mysteriously disappears. You’ll cringe at all the factors at play.
Then at 4:30pm, you’ll screen the film loosely based on Skarmeta’s play ‘Referendum’. Simply called ‘No’, it surrounds the real-life events in the 1988 referendum for democracy in Chile. If gripping, historically based, but beautifully shot films are what you’re after, you’d best spend your afternoon here.
‘Breathtaking…stunning…spectacular, inspiring, and chilling.’
