Peace vs Justice + Debate

A rare glimpse at the impact of Kony + his resistance on the world

Supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and TIME, this exclusive event will showcase a special screening of 'Peace vs Justice' followed by a lively debate with Barney Afako, Mugambi Kiai, and director Klaartje Quirijns, moderated by Matthew McAllester. The film follows the fight between the Ugandan Government and the Lord's Resistance Army, led by the infamous Joseph Kony. With his army of child soldiers wreaking havoc in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the International Criminal Court in The Hague has been fighting to bring Kony to justice. Crucial moments in the painful process at the ICC are explored while director Klaartje Quirijns shows rare recordings of the peace negotiations with Kony in the jungle. Weighing up the different views of Western values in other countries, 'Peace vs Justice' reveals the tension created by the world's desire for peace and justice. General admission. Over 18s only please. Please arrive on time.
