Peter Pan Film Screening
Enjoy some childhood nostalgia with this Disney movie throwback
There’s only one place to be this Saturday afternoon: The Phoenix Artist Club’s screening of Peter Pan. Be prepared for plenty of moving filmic moments, some happy and some sad, and a whole lot of memorable childhood songs. Make your way down to this exclusive "theatre-land" venue that once housed the original dressing rooms and rehearsal space of The Phoenix Theatre. Don’t miss out on this fun-filled trip to the movies in a star-studded piece of London history. This week it’s Peter Pan, the Disney animated film, where Wendy (Kathryn Beaumont) and her two brothers are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan (Bobby Driscoll) flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-off place called Neverland, where children stay perpetually young. Enchanted, the kids follow him back. But when Pan’s nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook (Hans Conried), causes trouble, the kids begin to miss their old life. Runtime: 1 hour 17 minutes. Certificate: U.
"Mr. Disney and his artists, for all their craft and skill, are still a wee bit unresponsive where the delicacies of whimsy are concerned."
