Pillow Cinema: Elf
Will Ferrell…in a giant, green elf costume. What more d'ya need to know?
The Pillow Cinema have made it their mission to turn your movie nights into unforgettable experiences. After a glorious summer of screenings they now take their magic to the beautiful Sutton House, a stunning Tudor home run by The National Trust in the heart of Hackney. Filled with oak-panelled rooms and charming original features, it’s the perfect setting for cosying up with a movie and a loved one this winter. For this one Will Ferrell is amping up the Christmas spirit as Buddy, an oversized elf who learns his true identity one fateful festive season – that he’s actually a human adopted by Santa. His subsequent visit to New York to find his family sees him spread Christmas cheer to cynics everywhere. We're feeling festive already. Certificate: PG. Runtime: 1 hour 33 minutes. Doors to Sutton House open half an hour before the event. The film will start at the advertised time, and no trailers will be shown in advance. The fatboy bean bags are huge, and seat one person spaciously or two people snuggled up. If lounging's not really your thing, you can also grab a more traditional seat. Either way, there'll be blankets and cushions available for all.
"At the beginning of every December, my only advent ritual is to curl up in a blanket and laugh with Buddy on a cold day."
