Pop Up Screens: Bedknobs And Broomsticks
In the age of not believing, you're going to have to put your trust in magic
Angela Lansbury plays Eglantine Price, who shelters three children from the Blitz in the small village of Peppering Eye. Eglantine is a witch, who dreams of contributing to the war effort with magic. When the children discover her secret, she casts a spell on an old bedknob, so they can travel anywhere they like. The mix of live action and cartoon can still feel like a novelty, even in today's CGI-infused world. At the site, there are food stalls and a fully licensed bar (not included in the ticket price, and cash only), but feel free to bring your own picnic as well. General admission. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing as the event is outside. Do bring something to sit on, don't bring a tent. Doors at 7pm, film starts at 8pm.
"...rivals the joy and wonder of Mary Poppins."
