A movie that is so bad it's good + became a cult hit
Pretty much every question you ever had about Father Christmas is given an answer in this 1985 movie. Best part is Dudley Moore plays an elf called Patch. He inadvertently begins to ruin the magic of Christmas when he joins forces with a scheming toy company executive, played with over-acted glee by John Lithgow. This has turned out to be a cult classic, mainly for its elaborately tacky set up. Best available seating. Best available seating.
"...a multilayered metaphor for the increasing commercialisation and meaninglessness of Christmas..."
