Fresh air and classic movies: a winning combination coming to a bit of grass near you
Pop-Up Screens aim to bring brilliant films to cool locations. For this one, head to the Guildhall for a lot of lovely food, amazing popcorn and a fully stocked bar. Taking the original tale and shifting it slightly, Baz Luhrmann's version focusses on two warring business empires, but still the same complications between Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo and Claire Danes as Juliet. Relocated from fair Verona to Verona Beach, USA, this vibrant, zeitgeisty mid-90s adaptation retains the bard's original dialogue, performed with gusto by a hip young cast and set to a perfectly-pitched soundtrack. Certificate: 12A. Runtime: 1 hour 55 minutes. Bring stuff to keep you warm/dry in the British weather and something to sit on. Please do not bring a tent.
