Big screens with a Big film
Pop Up Screens aim to bring brilliant films to cool locations. For this one head to Greenwich Peninsula Central Park for a lot of lovely food, amazing popcorn and a fully stocked bar. If you’d prefer to bring your own picnic that’s ok, but it must be noted you will be missing out on burgers from the guy that supplies Harrods. For this one, get ready for the 1998 classic Big. More than anything else, 13-year-old Josh wants to be an adult. After a creepy encounter with a fairground fortune teller, Josh wakes up bigger (and as Tom Hanks), but with the mentality of a 13-year-old. He then decides to hide out in New York City until he can figure out what to do next. Refreshingly sweet and undeniably funny, Big is a showcase for Tom Hanks, who dives into his role and infuses it with charm and surprising poignancy. "Joyously entertaining, escapist stuff." – Total Film "Tom Hanks is marvellously childlike as Josh, all restless energy, innocence and real pleasure in the liberation that being grown up allows him." – The Daily Telegraph Certificate 12A. Runtime: 1 hour 52 minutes.
"A delightful comedy-fantasy."
