Dancing to the beat of their hearts
Pop Up Screens aim to bring brilliant films to cool locations. For this one head to Ravenscourt Park for a lot of lovely food, amazing popcorn and a fully stocked bar; but if you’d prefer to bring your own picnic that’s ok, but it must be noted you will be missing out on burgers from the guy that supplies Harrods. Tonight’s offering on the screen is Dirty Dancing. When Frances "Baby" Houseman goes to Kellerman's holiday resort, little does she know she'll have the time of her life (sorry, we couldn't resist). This is one of the most iconic love/dance stories of modern-day cinema, with Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze delivering memorable performances. "The purest spirit of the 1980s is distilled in this amiable film." – The Guardian "A metaphor for America in the summer of 1963 – orderly, prosperous, bursting with good intentions." – Times Certificate: 12. Runtime: 1 hour 40 minutes. You do need to bring something to sit on, there’s always plenty of room so you can get inventive. Please don’t bring a tent though... it’s just showing off.
"Endlessly quotable, strangely fascinating and immensely charming."
