Goonies still never say die
The Press Play rooftop summer series wouldn't be complete without returning to Broadway House. The intimate rooftop space provides a unique setting to enjoy a classic film whilst taking in the London Skyline. BBQ food, drinks and Pops (the world’s first champagne ice lolly) will be on offer from 7pm; and, as always, you'll receive a free bag of Propercorn with every ticket. Tonight’s offering on the huge screen is The Goonies, which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary this year. A firm family fave, this movie follows an enterprising group of boys who tackle the threat to their neighbourhood the only way they know how: by finding pirate treasure. With the villainous fratellis hot on their heels, the gang risk life and limb (sort of) to beat them to the finish line. "Find me another kids' film featuring economic struggle, opera, disabled brothers and a piano made of bones and I'll do the truffle shuffle myself." – The Guardian "The Goonies has every imaginable funhouse flourish. It has crooks, bats, cobwebs, skeletons, a lovable monster, an underground grotto and a treasure hidden by some of the most considerate, clue-loving pirates who ever lived." – New York Times Certificate: 12. Runtime: 1 hour 39 minutes. Doors open at 8pm; film starts at sunset (around 8:30pm). We would recommend bringing a jumper, rug, pillow, anything to keep you warm and snug. No refunds are accepted unless the event is cancelled.
"A rolicking good time."
