British and Russian musicians playing in commemoration of sailorsRussia and The West may be butting heads at the moment, but this is an event that transcends those disagreements. Victory Day London celebrates the solidarity and joint efforts of the British and Russian navies – in particular the Arctic Convoys, who crucially kept Russia supplied through the war. Following an award ceremony on board the HMS Belfast earlier in the day, this variety performance in Hay's Galleria will celebrate those efforts. Highlights include works by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, and Rachmaninov.
