An 11-strong orchestra, a company of 30 West End performers, and Maureen Lipman join forces this evening to raise money for Centrepoint, a homeless charity for young people. The original show was a Broadway alumni-busting affair. Meaning, Annie’s Charles Strouse wrote it and Wicked’s Stephen Schwartz took care of the lyrics. Telling the tale of Jewish immigrants arriving in America, it’s a story of love and loss, with nuggets of hope in-between.
