Regent Street Cinema Presents: Jingle Bell Rocks
Deck the halls with festive bangers
Regent Cinema – Britain's oldest cinema – was the first place in the country to ever show moving pictures, kickstarting British cinema with a screening of Cinematographe in 1896. Since its reopening in May 2015 the staff have been dedicated to both engaging with the cinemas legacy and ensuring its future for audiences and filmmakers. Nothing screams "It's Christmaaas" like Noddy Holder blasting out of the office stereo. From Run DMC to Miles Davis, Mitchell Kezin's loving ode to festive bangers asks why, exactly, we go ape for cheese in the holiday period. Hitting the road to hang with the holiday heroes who share his passion, his quest uncovers the stories that lay deep inside the grooves, uncovering irreverent and heartfelt insights into how each of these forgotten songs came to be. "Amazing. Touching. Original. Psychotronic... Jingle Bell Rocks! is all that and a little more." – La Presse "A rambling tour of Yuletide frivolity that comes from a very serious - and personal - place." – Toronto Star Over 15s only. "As warm as Christmas and Hanukkah combined."
