Robert Lepage's 'Playing Cards' at the Roundhouse

Theatre for people who don't like theatre

The master of theatrical magic (you can thank him for Cirque du Soleil’s Totem) is back with a vengeance with this four-part play series. Each show is shaped around one suit in a deck of cards (tonight you’re seeing Spades), exploring various themes. Part one takes your through the theme of war, set in Vegas as the US invasion of Iraq begins in 2003. It’s a multi-media approach at storytelling that will not stop you short of breathless. 'This totally addictive crack-pipe of a play...mixes sex, drugs, violence and politics into a blend you won’t want to forget. Lepage has another winner on his hands.' - Toronto Star. Zone B seating (allocated upon arrival). Please note there are scenes of nudity and violence, over 16s suggested. Arrive on time as latecomers may not be admitted.
